April Bee Blocks

I’m currently participating in three bees (three bees are definitely enough to keep me busy each month!), and here’s what I came up with:

Stash Bee— This is probably my favorite bee simply because the blocks are usually more challenging and/or give more room for creativity and for trying techniques that are new to me.  This month the assignment was some sort of house block, and “house” was a loose requirement, so I did a tree house.  I also made one for myself to add to my own tree quilt from the block I got in March during my month.

We Bee Learning Bee— I joined this bee on a whim, and it’s a beginner bee.  The blocks are always super-easy.  This month was a wonky log cabin.  My block isn’t too wonky, but I pulled from the scrap strips that were piled on my desk from recent string blocks, and most of them were fairly straight.

The 99 Bee— This bee is all blocks from the 99 Modern Blocks book.  This month’s block and color choices aren’t my particular style, but hopefully the recipient likes the look she ends up with.   She sent the green fabric as well as some of the purple and blue for the Xs.  I filled in about half of the Xs from my own stash.
